Lakeland, FL – Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on S Florida Ave

Lakeland, FL (November 24, 2024) – A 67-year-old man, identified as Robin Brown, lost his life in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning in Lakeland, according to the Lakeland Police Department (LPD).
The incident occurred at approximately 12:02 a.m. on November 23, when Brown was attempting to cross South Florida Avenue westbound from Palmetto Avenue. Authorities report that a southbound vehicle struck Brown and then fled the scene, continuing south on South Florida Avenue.
Emergency responders from LPD, Polk County Fire Rescue, and the Lakeland Fire Department arrived on-site to provide assistance. Brown was transported to Lakeland Regional Health, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a 2018-2022 Range Rover 2, possibly gray or silver in color. The crash remains under investigation.
