Pasco Co, FL – Deadly Crash Reported on SR-56 at Morris Bridge Rd

Pasco Co., FL (July 30, 2024) – A fatal motor vehicle accident was reported in Pasco County that claimed one person’s life. The Florida Highway Patrol was called to the scene of the accident early Sunday morning, July 28.

Reports from authorities indicate that just after 3:00 a.m., a man was driving a Dodge Durango West on the eastbound side of Florida State Route 56. As the vehicle proceeded forward near the area near Morris Bridge Road, it collided head-on with the Chevrolet Silverado. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to rotate around. The Silverado went on the outer shoulder, flipped over, and burst into flames. The driver of the Silverado was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Durango, identified as 37-year-old Kevin Jomell Marshall and his 33-year-old wife were both transported to area hospitals for medical care. Marshall was later arrested for DUI manslaughter and DUI property damage after providing a breathalyzer sample of 0.171. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
