Polk Co., FL – Lake Hatchineha Rd Crash Takes One Life

Polk County, FL (September 26, 2024) – A major motor vehicle accident reported in Polk County on Wednesday claimed the life of one woman. The Polk County Sheriff’s office was called to the scene at around 12:25 a.m. on September 25.

Reports show that a 2021 Cadillac Escalade was traveling westbound on Lake Hatchineha Road when the vehicle crossed over the center line and collided with a 2019 Toyota Camry near Lake Hamilton. The passenger in the Camry, identified as a 61-year-old woman, was severely injured in the crash. She was rushed to an area hospital for emergency care. Authorities confirmed that she died after arriving. The driver of the Toyota was also injured and transported to a local hospital. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
