Sarasota, FL (July 20, 2024) – At least one person was transported to a local hospital with injuries following a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Friday, July 19, in the Sarasota area. The crash happened at around 3:40 p.m.

According to police reports, a collision between vehicles blocked the right lane on northbound University Parkway. The incident caused delays in the area near the West University Parkway split. Police and firefighters closed off a section of the roadway while assisting. EMS was requested on-site to care for injured victims and transport those who required further care to area hospitals.
