Sarasota, FL (August 21, 2024) – On August 20, emergency crews were called to the scene of an automobile accident that sent an unknown number of people to area hospitals with injuries. The collision took place at around 2:25 p.m.

Official reports show that an automobile accident took place in the 1300 block of US Highway 301. The incident prompted the closure of the roadway near 13^th Street. Authorities arrived at the scene and located a black Chrysler van and a Buick SUV blocking the road. Delays were reported throughout the area as emergency crews worked to clear the scene. Emergency medical services were requested on-site to care for injured victims. At least one person was transported to a local hospital for further care. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
