Car Accidents in Florida

When hit-and-run crashes happen, they can cause confusion and frustration for victims. Here’s what to know about these types of incidents:
- Driver Accountability: A hit-and-run occurs when someone involved in a crash flees before exchanging information or aiding the injured. This is illegal in Florida and can result in criminal charges. Victims often depend on witness accounts or surveillance footage to help track down the driver.
- Injury Claims and Insurance: Even if the other driver is not immediately found, victims may still pursue compensation through their uninsured motorist coverage. It’s important to file a claim right away and document any injuries or vehicle damage.
- Police Investigations: Local authorities typically investigate hit-and-run crashes by collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and checking nearby surveillance footage. Cooperation from the public can help identify suspects more quickly.
- Medical Attention: In many hit-and-run incidents, injured individuals may experience delayed treatment if emergency services are not called right away. Prompt care is essential for both physical recovery and documentation of injuries for future claims.
- Legal Representation: Victims often need legal assistance to help manage insurance claims, navigate the legal process, and ensure their rights are protected when the other driver is unknown or unidentified.
