Polk, FL – Injury Accident Reported on US-98 Near Rock Ridge Rd

Polk, FL (August 16, 2024) – At around 9:55 a.m. on August 14, emergency officials were requested at the scene of an automobile accident in which at least one person was hurt.

Local law enforcement reports show that vehicles collided on US Highway 98. Authorities arrived at the scene and immediately closed off the roadway between Rock Ridge Road and West Socrum Loop Road. Delays were reported throughout the area as emergency crews remained on-site. Medical personnel responded to the scene to care for the injured victims. Those who required further medical attention were transported to area hospitals. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
