Sarasota, FL – Fatal Pedestrian Crash Reported on FL-70 near I-75

Sarasota, FL (August 4, 2024) – A pedestrian was fatally injured as a result of an automobile accident that took place in the Sarasota area early Saturday morning, August 3.

At around 12:20 a.m., a pedestrian was traveling on the westbound side of Florida State Route 70. As they proceeded through the area just one-quarter of a mile from Interstate 75, they were struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was severely hurt as a result of the accident. Despite medical efforts, the victim, identified as a 39-year-old man, was pronounced deceased while on the scene. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
