St. Petersburg, FL – Driver Ejected, Fatally Injured in Crash on 1st Ave

St. Petersburg, FL (September 12, 2024) – A major motor vehicle accident reported in the St. Petersburg area claimed one person’s life Wednesday morning, September 11.

At around 10:00 a.m., a white Ford Ranger and a silver Infiniti sedan collided on First Avenue South. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to leave the roadway near 51^st Street South. One person involved in the accident, identified as the driver of the Ford, was ejected from his vehicle. The man was severely injured and ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the sedan was injured in the crash and rushed to an area hospital for emergency care. The incident is under investigation.
