St Petersburg, FL (September 20, 2024) – An 18-year-old was transported to an area hospital with severe injuries following a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Thursday afternoon, September 19. Authorities were called to the scene of the crash just after 2:00 p.m.

Reports from law enforcement indicate that a sedan was traveling west on 54^th Avenue North. For unknown reasons, it struck a pickup truck, which was crossing North to South along 12^th Street. The pickup truck flipped over. The driver of the sedan ran off. The driver of the pickup truck, an 18-year-old, was seriously injured. The victim was rushed to an area hospital for emergency care. The St. Petersburg Police Department is currently investigating the crash.
